Allergenicity: | Clinical data: A total of 80 fish-allergic patients were included in this study. All had a convincing history of IgE-mediated fish allergy and a sensitization to at least one fish species confirmed by skin prick test with commercial and in-house fish preparations. Eight patients reported typical IgE-mediated allergic reactions after ingestion of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. As negative controls, 2 non-atopic individuals without history of type I allergy and 8 individuals with allergy to shellfish were used.Among those 10 individuals, only one individual with shellfish allergy demonstrated IgE reactivity to this aldolase A. |
