Recombinant Glutathione transferase (GST) from Ascaris suum and natural GST from Ascaris lumbricoides were used in tests of IgE binding in subjects sensitized to Ascaris extract. Some publications suggest that these two species are one, based on genetics and also proven hybridization. There is some cross reactivity to mite and cockroach GST and this protein.
