| Allergenicity: | 100 allergic patients with mite allergy were diagnosed with standardized questionnaires (allergic rhinitis, asthma or atopic dermatitis combined with typical mite-associated symptom exacerbation). Of those, 82 has specific IgE to Suidasia pontifica extract (by ELISA). Of the sera from Sui p sensitized patients, 40 (49%) had IgE to recombinant Sui p 2.0101, while only 1 of 100 non-allergic donors' sera has Sui p 2-specific IgE. In an inhibition ELISA, IgE binding to Sui p extract was inhibited by rSui p 2 by > 50% with 4 of 6 Sui p 2-positive sera. |
