| Allergenicity: | Thirty-nine P. acerifolia-sensitized patients with allergic rhinitis in spring were tested. All has positive SPT and sIgE (measured by ImmunoCAP) to plane tree pollen extract. Of those 30 (77%) had serum IgE to recombinant Pla a 4, measured by ELISA. The result was confirmed by IgE immunoblot with sera from 22 profilin-sensitized patients. Basophils from 3 of 4 profilin-sensitized patients reacted in a BAT assay with rPla a 4. |
