Major taxonomic group: Animalia Arthropoda Order: Sarcoptiformes Species: Tyrophagus putrescentiae (Storage mite) NCBI Taxomony ID: 59818 |
Biochemical name: | Cysteine protease |
MW(SDS-PAGE): | 25 kDa |
Allergenicity: | 298 subjects attending the Taichung Veterans General Hospital were recruited with at least asthma, rhinitis, atopic dermatitis or eczema. They were tested by SPT to recombinant protein. IgE binding tested by ELISA to recombinant protein, cloned by PCR. Indirect basophil activation was tested. 65 of 298 were positive by ELISA, 60 of 106 were positive by SPT and 35 of 30 positive by Basophil activation. |

Sequenced originally by FT Chew in ~ 2008.
Then the work by Liao. It is not clear whether this is a prepro sequence that will be reduced in processing, and then be at 25 kDa. Based on the seqeunce, it should be >31 kDa. The authors did not show the sequence in their MDPI 8 Sept 2020 publication. THey do not claim having tested the AA sequence.
